When you are out buying a cellulite cream, you’ll come across innumerable offers in stores, each outdoing the other. This can make your purchase decision quite tough. At this point, doing a thorough research would be helpful.
Here is what you should look for when buying a right anti-cellulite cream.
1) L-Carnitine: This ingredient occurs naturally in the skin and converts the fat into energy. This means it is associated with body metabolism, and is regarded as the important factor for deciding if we burn sufficient calories and fat or not. L-Carnitine also causes reduction of fat storage cells below the skin - and smaller cells can hold less fat. Creams with L-Carnitine provide quick results, concentrated treatments particularly designed to combat the appearance of cellulite in problem spots.
2) Green tea extracts: This component acts just like L-Carnitine: it reduces fat storage cells, provides detoxifying characteristics. Green tea affects cellulite not only when taken internally by drinking green tea, but also when used outside as a cream constituent. Green tea burns more fat and reduces the quantity of fat storage cells below the skin.
3) Retinol (or Vitamin A, as both of them have the same features): This component fortifies and restores the connective tissue. Retinol is improves skin elasticity as it kindles the creation of collagen deep below the skin, inside cell layers. Vitamin A can also be used internally and externally internally - when consuming carrot juice, and externally – when used as creams. However don’t overdose vitamin A - it can harm health if overdosed. Half a glass of carrot juice per day is okay.
4) Shea Butter: nurtures and softens the skin, making it very essential for cellulite reduction. It is a slightly yellowish or ivory-colored totally natural fat obtained from fruit of the shea tree. Shea butter is largely used in cosmetics to moisturize and soften the skin – very good for cellulite affected areas. As shea butter softens the skin, other ingredients can easily enter into the upper layers – thus increasing their efficiency.
5) Caffeine: it is effective for cellulite when used externally, not taken internally. So drinking coffee will not clear your cellulite. It may even worsen the condition. Caffeine enhances blood flow and circulation thereby removing toxins and extra fluids from the body - as these elements are important in cellulite reduction process.
6) Algae extract: helps in water binding and antioxidants working, mainly to restore the skin`s moisture and give elasticity to the epidermis. Enhances skin surface hydration. Purifies and calms the skin, offering an excellent protective barrier.
7) Seaweed extract: just like Algae Extract, seaweed extract pacifies and guards the skin, and is also a very effective moisturiser.
8 ) Horsetail Extract: Horsetail is a herb that helps the regeneration, strength and suppleness of connective tissue, also increases the cell metabolism. Horsetail Extract is famous for its calming and rejuvenating characteristics, and toning and tightening the skin.
It is difficult to get a treatment in the market that contains each of these components. But even if few of them are present, it is fine. There are products that don’t use either of these components, yet are effective too. However they should be used properly along with other cellulite reduction processes.
Also remember, no cream can clear cellulite just by applying it. You have to do a lot more than just applying cream.
